Courses for Study
The following courses are the approved core courses of the academic program by Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
HIST-3313 History and Geography of Biblical Lands
HIST-3323 History of the Jews
HIST-4433 History & Politics of the Middle East
BIBL-1413 Historical Contextual Survey of the New Testament
BIBL-1113 Historical Contextual Survey of the Old Testament
A proper slate of courses will be recommended that will fit into a template for a “Concentration” that will be offered in “Holy Land Studies” at Temple Baptist Seminary and, with further refinement, a “Minor” shall be added to Tennessee Temple University Baccalaureates in “Holy Land” or “Near Eastern” Studies.
The recommendation is for all courses to be offered in a hybrid medium and methodology. The students will take online courses through the Distance Learning Program at Tennessee Temple University or Temple Baptist Seminary and will have the opportunity to study abroad at a teaching site which would add another dimension of teaching to the already excellent online experience. Since it is an “online course,” the enhanced learning environment and “gathering of students together for added instruction” will be no different conceptually than online students taking like subjects “meeting together with an instructor somewhere in the USA for additional teaching and aid.” Although “face time” requirements will meet or exceed all those in a normal classroom setting of approximately THREE hours per week for accreditation and good practice, the online requires no face time.
